Descriptions of Products
Custom built Mobil Computer Stand with seat track mount:
This computer stand is built specific for each vehicle from the order form information. The height (the distance from the seat track mount to where the platform pivot post goes in) and reach (the distance between the first and second bend) of the pedestal is determined by the seats and console and will be different for different makes and models. The seat track mount also will be different between vehicles and sometimes year models. As a rule a Mobil Computer Stand built for 2002 Chevrolet w/bucket seats and console will not fit in a Ford with bucket seats and a console. If the pedestal fit, the seat track mount would not.
Custom built Mobil Computer Stand with universal floor mount with tilt/non-tilt:
This computer stand is custom built only in the height of the pedestal. For pickups there is standard height and for cars there is standard height. Because it comes with a universal floor mount it can be mounted almost anywhere that is most comfortable for the user. It can be ordered with a universal floor mount that tilts, or one that does not tilt. (See description below)
Computer Platform with tilt:
This is the platform that your laptop sits on and is inserted into the pedestal. It will tilt to the desired position by loosening the locking tilt handle. It will swivel by loosening the adjustment knob located on the pedestal. The height is adjustable also by loosening the adjustment knob on the pedestal. The height adjustment will vary from model to model.
Printer/Computer Platform without tilt:
This platform is the same as the platform described above but it does not tilt. Most generally this platform is used as a printer platform where there is no need for it to tilt. It can be used as a computer platform if the customer wants it.
Swing Away Mouse/Note Pad:
This accessory attaches to the bottom of the computer platform and is held in place with an adjustment knob. While not in use it will swing to the far left of the computer platform and be hidden and out of the way (see photos). When in use it will swing out to the right side of the platform where the user has complete control of the mouse. Or it can be used as a note pad resting place.
The mouse/note pad must be ordered with the computer stand as it is not available separately at this time.
Custom Built Pedestal:
The pedestal is the tube that attaches to the lower seat track mount or universal floor mount and holds the computer platform at the top. It is custom built to fit a specified vehicle according to seat style and design, center console and automatic or standard shift from the information on the order form. The height and reach will vary from model to model and sometimes year to year. It has two bends in it. The first bend is usually just at the top of the seat so it can swivel and the second bend is the distance (reach) to the user. The pedestal has two adjustment knobs. The adjustment knob at the bottom allows for some height ajustment and allows the pedestal to swivel in either direction to accommodate the user’s needs. The adjustment knob at the top will allow the computer platform to swivel and be raised or lowered.
Custom Built Seat Track Mount:
This seat track mount is custom built specific to a vehicle per the year, make, model, and seat design from the information off the order form. It mounts on the passenger inside seat track. This where the seat track or seat frame is bolted to the floor with a factory bolt. The custom track mount is made to install in just a few minutes using the factory bolt so no drilling is required.
Universal Floor Mount with Tilt
The universal floor mount requires drilling to install and can be installed just about anywhere in any vehicle. The base is 4×6 in. and has a 4” pedestal post that can be tilted front and back giving additional adjustments.
Adjustment Knobs:
Every Mobil Computer Stand comes with adjustment knobs located on the pedestal at the top and bottom. The knob at the top keeps the laptop platform in the desired position it was placed in. When loosened it allows the platform to swivel 360 degrees. The adjustment knob located at the bottom of the pedestal keeps the pedestal in place and allows it to swivel when loosened.
Locking Pivot Handle:
The locking pivot handle is located on the right side under the platform. It allows you to tilt the platform to the desired angle. It is spring loaded and has internal teeth so it can be positioned out of the way and stay there.
